What’s Happening with WhosTheRef and WhosTheUmpire?
We have launched a new brand to reflect the range of solutions that we now offer to make sports easier to run. We are well known for our core offerings which will retain the same name:
WhosTheRef.com; and
WhosTheUmpire.com
But in addition to officiating, we also have fully-featured modules for:
- Membership management
- Competition management
- Wearable tech
- Mobile/Tablet apps
Our new brand reflects this range of functionality.
Our Limited Company name is changing from Officials-for-sport.com Limited (yes, that’s always been a mouthful!) to Run Sports Ltd – that’s what we do!
WhosTheRef and WhosTheUmpire will continue to operate as normal under their dedicated website names. In the short term, there will not be any significant changes to those portals, although this latest update will enable us to release more new functionality in the near future.

Questions?
Is there much change to WhosTheRef and WhosTheUmpire?
In the short term, no significant changes to the main admin portals, although some colours will change to match the new brand. However over the coming months there will be releases of new functionality, and further updates to improve the user interface and user experience.
So what is changing?
The biggest change is to the limited company name, and, the public facing website which will better reflect what we now do.
Do I need to change my login?
No – your user name and password will remain exactly the same
Do I change how I login?
Depends – if you have bookmarked the login page at WTR or WTU then no, nothing at all changes.
If you normally start the login from the public home page of WHosTheRef or WhosTheUmpire, then you will be automatically redirected to the public home page of RunSports.tech, and you start the login from there.
Will WhosTheRef and WhosTheUmpire be changing?
Initially, only a little bit. We are changing some of the colours on the User Interface to match our new brand. We will continue making subtle improvements to make the User Experience more efficient for you (less clicks!)
Does this change the app?
The mobile phone app has always been called the “WhosTheRef App”, which is not good for users of WhosTheUmpire! With that in mind we are changing the app to be called the RunSports App. The icon will also be updated to match our new logo.
Why Change?
WhosTheRef and WhosTheUmpire were launched 17 years ago and have built up a fantastic reputation for managing match officials, from appointing, to development, finances and personal performance.
Over the last five years we have released additional tools such as a competition management module, which generates fixtures, handles player registrations, manages team rosters, processes results and generate league tables – everything you need to run your competitions.
In addition we have watch apps for referee and umpires, and tablet apps for pitch side game management.
Our new brand allows us to promote the full range of modules we offer.
Why change now?
Like many businesses, Officials-for-Sport.com Limited started out as a sole trader. Since formation in 2009 we have grown steadily and organically, with a steadfast focus on providing excellent customer service, and future stability for our customers.
Whilst we are now entering a new phase of growth, we remain absolutely committed to that principal, and the new brand helps us to communicate that loyalty to our customers.
